  • Welcome to our web site!

MICHIGAN TREASURE HUNTERS is an organization for those people who enjoy all kinds of treasure hunting. Metal detecting coin and jewelry, relic hunting, bottle digging and ghost town searching, to name just a few. A bonus treasure is found in the fellowship with others who are also interested in our hobby-treasure hunting!!!

In existence since 1974, our club's primary objective is the promotion of treasure hunting, while keeping proper conservation measures in mind, and teaching correct treasure hunting techniques. Our club's motto is "WE LEAVE IT CLEANER THAN WE FOUND IT."

It is with great regret that I post the passing of another MTH member, Al Temple.
He was not just a member but "The #1 Member" or as some of us would call him "The Founding Father of MTH".
Al and Doris Temple founded the Michigan Treasure Hunters Club in 1974.
I just called him my good friend.

You see when I first joined MTH, Al immediately took me under his wing with one of the most unforgettable greetings. We talked for a short while about the goings on of the club and how it all started. He explained what went on at the meetings. Well from that warm greeting I was forever sold on the club and for what it stood for. You see that is only a fraction of what kind of gentlemen Al was. I will never forget that day and my memories of Al. May he keep shining on all of us from above.

A Tribute To Al Temple
The spirit of MTH shines on like a bright star across the distant void.
The comradery and ideals that you established will never be destroyed.
The meetings and activities will continue as well as all the fun,
But things will never be the same again without MTH Member # 1

Rest In Peace ... Joe Carey

Al and Doris Temple

Al passed away on march 4th.
There will be no viewing, however there will be a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. on Monday March 15th at the Connection Church,
3855 S. Sheldon Road (just N. of Michigan Ave.), Canton, MI 48188. There will be a dinner for attendees following the service.
It is suggested that any donations be made to the Connection Church in memory of Al Temple.
